Senator office building the best office development in Europe
Polish office building Senator won in a global, prestigious European Property Awards competition in the Office Development category. Senator is the only five-star winner in Poland and the best in Europe acknowledged by the international jury. The winners in particular categories were announced during the official gala in London. Senator is the latest Ghelamco Poland project completed in Warsaw.
The European Property Awards ceremony was held in London's Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square on 24th September 2012. The judging panel announced the winners of European qualifications in a number of real estate categories. Senator was given the highest "Five Star" rating, and also is recognised as the best office building in its category in Europe.
The European Property Awards 2012 is part of the prestigious International Property Awards contest, which distinguishes most spectacular real estate projects. The jury is composed of 60 international specialists. The event is organized in cooperation with Yamaha and the Royal Institute of Charted Surveyors (RICS). Awards for Senator were personally accepted by Ghelamco's representatives: Jeroen van der Toolen, Managing Director CEE, and Jarosław Zagórski, Commercial and Business Development Director.

The contest's final will take place in December 2012, when the winning projects from all over the world will compete with each other. Senator will face the projects form Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Arab region. Senator combines rich historical heritage with the most modern solutions used in office buildings, which renders it one of the most unique developments to have emerged in Poland. The building has 25,000 sqm of office space and is already 75% leased by prestigious tenants such as PKN Orlen, Rabobank, BRE Bank, Euronet and Legg Mason.
Senator is located in the very centre of the capital - at Bielańska Street which has been home to the world of business and finance since the 18th century. Senator's shape draws inspiration from the former Bank of Poland, while its façade retains the architectural solutions adopted for the building at the beginning of the preceding century.
The main atrium is a special place in Senator. Its renovated central wall recreates the genuine appearance of the Bank of Poland's cash-desk room's front elevation, thus being the right place to put the original Bank plaque first presented on 24 April 1924. A section of the atrium's floor is to offer a view onto the historic 18th century foundations of the Mint of Poland established by King Stanisław August and a container with the foundation act which was placed here after the construction stage.
